As we know, India is the land of festivals and Kite festival of Jaipur is observed on the day of Makar Sankranti or Uttarayan. Celebrated on 14th of January to mark the transition of the sun from dhanu rashi (Sagittarius) to makara rashi (Capricorn), the day is considered auspicious and has important religious significance. This festival  is celebrated by various names in different types of  the country.
The kite festival of Gujarat is famous all over the world. The preparations for the festival start months before the festival by kite manufacturers all over India and the world.
